The indie rock veterans have been stirring up fans’ bygone nostalgia with their classic anthems that include “The World at Large”, “The Tortoise and the Tourist” and “This Devil’s Workday”. Howling fiercely into the mic and pacing the stage from one end to the other, they keep the energy alive throughout the show. In between the songs they treat the already charged crowd to incredible light show and screen projections.

In 2000, Modest Mouse signed with Sony's Epic Records entering a new phase of success. Since then they have made indie rock as their niche and become one of the leading bands with albums "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" and "The Moon & Antractica" that earned platinum and gold status by the RIAA respectively. The band has achieved sales of over three million records. Rock bands like Pixies and others have inspired the early works of Modest Mouse.
Four music professionals Eric Judy, Jeremiah Green, John Wickhart and Isaac Brock got together and released their debut EP "Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?" in 1994. After this album, Modest Mouse released a single "Broke". A debut album "Sad Sappy Sucker" was also recorded by them in the meantime but it could not be released immediately since the project met constant delays. The album was finally released in 2001. The band delivered many DIY/punk performances and it was in 2004, that they made waves in the pop music world.
The group released two full-length albums when they signed with Up Records. An EP "This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About" was also released by them in 1996. "Interstate 8" was another offering by them. The members of Modest Mouse were now able to grasp the strings of music. Their next album "The Lonesome Crowded West" released in 1997 served as the band's breakthrough. It provided a cult following for the group and is currently acknowledged as one of the albums of mid-1990s indie rock that has defined the category. An EP "The Fruit That Ate Itself" was also recorded by the group. A collection entitled "Building Nothing Out of Something" containing singles and rarities found its way in the music market in 1999. All the songs of "Interstate 8" were included in it excluding "Buttons to Push the Buttons" and "Edit the Sad Parts".
Modest Mouse signed with Epic Records and the first album under this association was "The Moon & Antarctica". This time, the group turned out an instrumental piece basically because Brock could not lend his vocals due to having his jaw broken. The singles "Gravity Rides Everything" and "3rd Planet" were very popular on alternative radio with the band sweeping immense popularity in the music world.
When 2001 commenced, the group released their EP "Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks". It contained some singles from "The Moon and Antarctica" that were not released before. The band then proceeded on The Unlimited Sunshine Tour in 2002 along with De La Soul, The Hackensaw Boys, Cake, Kinky and The Flaming Lips.
With time Modest Mouse have achieved more maturity and grasp over their work. The group reworked their album "The Moon & Antarctica" in March 2010 as part of their efforts to re-release it on vinyl for the first time in 5 years. On American Independence day, July 4, 2010, the band is going to headline the 80/35_Music_Festival in Des Moines, IA on its second day. Plans are also underway that the band will fly to Dorset, England to take part in the End of The Road Festival on September 10, 2010.
With its winning streak combined with gripping music, the music band offers something novel to the music fans. Do not ignore Modest Mouse Tickets!
